Frequently Asked Questions

What is Blue Zone coffee?

Blue Zone coffee” refers to coffee grown in Costa Rica’s Nicoya Blue Zone—a region known for long-lived communities. We don’t make health claims; we celebrate place and culture: purposeful living, natural movement, simple whole foods—and great coffee grown within that community.

Our lot comes from Cerro Negro with partner co-op Coopepilangosta R.L. in the Nicoya/Guanacaste area. The co-op supports local producer families with fair, transparent practices—aligned with Nordico’s values of responsibility and long-term partnership.

NAMA Café de Costa Rica is a national program that helps the coffee sector reduce emissions and improve efficiency—from farm to mill. Through training and measurement, producers and mills adopt climate-smart practices that lower carbon impact while protecting cup quality.

In about 5–10% of coffee cherries only one seed develops—a round peaberry. Many roasters prize peaberries because they often roast more evenly and can deliver a focused, sweet, aromatic cup. Origin and processing still matter most—our lot is a fully washed peaberry from Nicoya’s Blue Zone.

We roast twice per week fresh to order and ship on Mon / Wed / Fri. Your coffee is packed to protect aromatics so it lands tasting its best.

We ship with DHL on Mon / Wed / Fri. Typical delivery windows: Domestic 1–3 business days, International 7-10 business days (customs may add time). You’ll receive a tracking link by email.

Choose Filter Roast (Medium) for balance (our house pick), Light (+$1) for extra citrus clarity, or Dark/Espresso (+$1) for fuller chocolate/caramel. Select Whole Bean or Ground (+$1) for drip or press—always ground fresh to order.

30-day returns. Secure checkout via PayPal (Extra Fee) and Tilopay. Need help? Message us anytime—our team is here to make your coffee better.
